This blog is my virtual sketchbook, where I peel back the curtain on the world of interior design and give you a raw view of the path from inspiration to final concept.  Some days I’ll Deconstruct Design, giving you the nitty-gritty on construction and materials. Other days I will feature what is On My Bulletin Board – my current inspirations and obsessions.  Every once and a while I’ll take you Behind the Design as I conjur up a room from a source of inspiration.

I just found your blog after seeing your amazing office in Better Homes and Garden. We have the same living room curtains! I am so inspired by you and I just wanted you to know. I started my design business last June and it has had many many ups and downs but at the end of the day I love what I do. I know you understand. 🙂 I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I’ll be following your blog. I’d love to feature you on mine if you ever have some free time I can send you over some interview questions. Thanks for the inspiration!

I also discovered you as part of my monthly reading of BH&G and I must say that I love your design aesthetic, so much so that I wanted to replicate your home office exactly as a New Years gift to myself. Thanks for your prompt reply to my email regarding your desk. So sorry it is discontinued. It is amazing but I am now inspired to keep on the hunt for my perfect desk. 🙂

My name is Anna and I’m a design blogger in North Carolina. I’ve recently begun following your blog and your tweets (after seeing you in BH&G; great article!) and I love your work. I wanted to let you know that I’ve passed on the “Stylish Blogger” award to you; thanks for sharing such great design inspiration with us!

    Happy New Year,

    Hi Amy,
I’ve recently started looking at design blogs for inspiration for our home…I don’t know where I’ve been in the past year ( maybe raising my 2 young children; 3 & 1 year old) . I am now obsessed w/ blogs and the blogrolls that are included. We are currently decorating our home ( chicago suburb) after 1 1/2 years of living. Your blog is inspirational and I loved your color scheme in the article of BH & G. You are definitely talented!

Also, I hope to get in contact with you in the future for more ideas when we are in the SD area. My family has a vacation home in Rancho Sante Fe, CA and am getting to know the area ( including Del Mar, CA). Best of luck with all your endeavors.

    All the best,

I just discovered you in Better Homes and Gardens! How talented ARE YOU!!! Your home is just so beautiful and I love the way you utilized all of the space.

I have confession…I am IN LOVE with your “hat/leash/coat rack” above your cabinet. Do you know where I can get one- or can I purchase one through you? If you are going say that you made it…arggg! (then could you tell me how)- I REALLY LOVE IT!

Thank you and congratulations on the article. Again, just amazing!!!

    Hi Amy
I have seen your designs and love them. I read you were looking for a French 1840-1850 trestle wine tasting table a few years ago.
I have a beautiful one that I am looking to sell. I will be getting it appraised by two auction houses in New York soon but if you are still interested / or looking to have another one please contact me.
Look forward to hearing from you.

  24. Just toured the Greystone Mansion and thought your design of the Grand Hallway was stunning.
Honestly, my favorite of all the rooms. Well done!
