We'll get personal in our initial meeting. Do you eat dinner cross-legged on your couch or at the table, candles ablaze? Will kids roll through your house like tumbleweeds or is your home quieter than the Louvre on a Tuesday? Collaboration is key. Together we'll draw up a list of priorities based on your needs, dreams and budget.

We'll also agree on the numbers of rooms and which room will be designed first. Starting small helps us hone in on what you want, ensuring the project expands as your preferences surface and the home flows from a focal point.

Treat yourself to an iced tea and a good read; the conceptual phase is all us. With your input in our back pocket, we go to our muses for inspiration and begin pulling together colors, fabrics and textures that will speak to you.

We will present several design concepts to you in person. Concepts take the shape of fabric stories, which are groupings of fabric swatches illustrating the mood, texture and color palette of the first room. Each fabric story shows what we'll use on in the window treatments, on the couch, on accent pillows, and the list goes on. You'll choose the direction in this meeting, often pulling elements from other fabric stories to create a modified, final concept.

The development stage is part blueprint, part organic growth. Armed with your chosen direction, we will first incorporate any feedback you have. We will then create the blueprint by drawing spatial plans and choosing furniture scale, lighting, paint and finishes. Taking time to do it right is time well spent. We work with artisans to create one of-a-kind furnishings, accent pieces and even architectural details. Patience and diligence pay off, especially when the end result is meticulously tailored to your home.

The organic part comes when we start to put everything together. Generally we will start with fabric and move to paint and furniture before layering with rugs, accessories, and art (more on that later). Each layer informs the next and can often inspire new developments on the spot.

Though it spans several stages, delivery and installation deserves a special mention. We are there every time furniture or other goods arrive. We inspect the delivery before accepting it and make sure your home is treated with respect by all personnel. We ensure everything goes as planned while you go about your day uninterrupted.

Who would Charlie Chaplin be without his bowler hat and cane? Carrie Donovan without her gigantic black round specs? Accessorizing your home imbues it with personality. Skipping this step results in sterile, blank rooms. Carefully curated art and accessories make a furnished space a home.
