Ode to Blue

Can you believe summer is almost over? I can't let it pass without paying tribute to my favorite color, blue. Here's a snapshot of some of the small ways we bring summer's blue skies and seas into our home.  I love that blue is so changeable; it can be happy, melancholy, sophisticated, or childlike.  What I love most is the calming effect it brings to our home.

Of course, it's not as if blue disappears around these parts come September 22 (the first day of fall!).  But I do start layering it with autumnal colors.  And before we get to that point, it seems only right to give blue it's due.
