Before & After: Powder Room

Do you all remember the Del Mar project with the breakfast nook I revealed here?  Well here's the first floor powder room!  It might be small, but packs a big punch! Before:

This client is after my own heart: a lover of all things blue and white.  It was not uncommon to show up on site and we'd be wearing the same outfit, no joke. So we naturally wanted to bring that palette into the powder room, along with the classic yet casual, coastal feel of the rest of the house.

The shape of the room is a bit... quirky, and charming even.  So we wanted to celebrate these details, rather then hiding them.  So we custom stenciled the walls and ceiling, my decorative painter meticulously applying this small print stencil by hand.

And, as always, it's the details that make a room interesting.  We tried to really mix textures, be it polished brass, hand made ceramic tile, custom walnut vanity, you get the point.

I just love the floor!  It feels like water.
