Collaborations

Inspired from seemingly disparate sources: Japanese Minimalist Design, the Bauhaus School, and ancient Korean cloth traditions, Amy Meier for Hartmann & Forbes’ line of window and wall coverings is a cohesive and sophisticated collection that weaves together the commonalities of these three movements. The tenets of Minimalism and Functionalism, and the use of raw materials attracted Amy to works of these genres, and helped her to create a feeling of calm order, and understated beauty.

Hartman & Forbes’ hand woven products served as the perfect medium to express the organic yet highly structured design that Amy envisioned. It is our sincere hope that these individual weaves are seen and used as a whole, as it was Amy’s intention for them to work and play off of each other, creating a rich composition for greater than the sum of its parts.
