Project Progress: Atlanta, GA

I feel very honored to have the opportunity to design homes around the country.  And, as I have spoken about before, the specific location and environment of each project really inspires the design work.  Last week, I was out on a pre-Thanksgiving site visit of a Tudor inspired home that I am designing in Atlanta.  The framing is up and we are working through the lighting, plumbing and flooring selections. I just love the South, it seems as though the people here value mill work as much as I do!  We are doing gorgeous arched trey ceilings in the entryway and master bedroom, paneled ceiling and walls in the dining and sitting room, shiplap in the mudroom, and lots and lots of built-ins throughout.

I know it's just the bones, but how fun?   And while the house is being built, we are really shaping up the the interior concept for the home (shared here).  We have antiqued a gorgeous Oushak rug for the sitting room, a Gustovian hutch and dining chairs for the dinning room, a pine work table for a sofa's back table, and neoclassical chairs for the breakfast room, just name a few.  To layer with the antiques, we have designed wonderfully sumptuous, upholstered pieces to give this southern home an inviting atmosphere, perfect for entertaining. Check out the concept board below!

The palette is set, the paint and fabrics are confirmed, and on my next site visit the paint will all be up!

I can't wait to see (and share) the finished project!
