Project Update: European Refinement

I cannot tell you how excited I am for our new project; my mind is spinning with ideas and images. In thinking about this post and how to best describe the design process, I realized that I have shared much of my visual journal with you already. As I experience things, I catalogue them in my albums and my imagination, adding depth of my creative well.
And it is all for moments like these, when I can look back at those images and see them differently, with new eyes and from a new place, and ultimately draw new and unique inspiration. Now I notice different details, shapes, colors, things that perhaps were always there, just waiting my discovery. I take these points and lay them on to the framework of the new project, weaving a brand new, fresh but familiar tapestry.
For this new project, I knew I wanted to incorporate applied plaster moulding, like the ones I saw in the Swan House, in Atlanta.
And I came across this dreamy Degounay Wallpaper at their flagship store in Paris, and just new it would be right.
Speaking of dreamy, this classic Porsche at the "secret" Rancho Santa Fe Car Club is just the right creamy white.
Though I want to incorporate a little more wamrth, and the blush of these blossoms in Paris, from my trip last Spring were just the right hue.
And though I'm bringing the colors of Paris inside, I found exterior inspiration in the courtyard at Suzanne Rheinstein's store, Holly Hock, in L.A.
And finally, the painting below is from the antique show at the Chicago Botanical Gardens. While I sadly don't know enough about the peice, I do know that it fit the color scheme for the new project perfectly.
These images, and their brethren in my collection inform and inspire each new project, in different and surprising ways. Check out the color story that it all lead to. I cannot wait till this project comes together and I can show you the end result!
